How to Install Car Sun Shades

The Car sun shade is a simple car accessory that is installed on the inside of the car where the windshield faces the driver of a vehicle. The major benefit of a using a car sun shield is that it helps keep a car’s interior cooler when parked in direct sunlight.  It obstructs the sun’s rays that penetrate the windshield of a vehicle. Another advantage of putting up a sun shade is that it prevents the harmful Ultra Violet rays of the sun from drying out and damaging the interior, which can be helpful in preventing cracks on your steering wheel and dashboard.

It’s easy to set up a car sun shade:

1. First open the sun shade in the car. It’s too awkward to open it outside the vehicle and then try to put it inside. Undo the strappy things, loops or Velcro at the sides.

2. Make sure your car sun shield is the right way up and slide the bottom edge of the sun shade onto the edge of the dash where the windshield meets the dashboard, making sure that the edge of the sun shade is touching the windshield as much as possible and is resting right up against the base of the dashboard.

3. Push the upper edge of the car sun shade onto the upper edge of the windshield. The shade should fit flush against the windshield and should have a small cutout where your rear view mirror should go.

4. Fold down the sun visors down and press them against the windshield so that they press the car sun shade against the glass. If the sun shade has small suction cups, press them firmly onto the glass.
